Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (U.S.A.). Robert studied bass with such famous musicians as : Rufus Reid, John Goldsby, Todd Coolman and Gerald Veasley. He left the United States after learning from masters like Harold Mabern and Steve Turre among others at the renowned William Patterson College. He has performed with Clark Terry, Louie Bellson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Dennis Rowland, Sonny Fortune, George Cables, Jeanie Bryson, Keith Copeland, Steve Marcus, Idris Muhammed, Miles Griffith, Sam Newsome, Don Braden and James Moody. Living in Barcelona since 1997, he has performed and recorded with such diverse musicians as Angela Suárez, Albert Pla, Josep Maria Farràs, The Ektal Ensemble (an improvised music group led by catalan percussionist Martí Perramón), Tikun, Oriol Tramvia, Dani Nel·lo, and Elisabet Raspall. Also, he has appeared on TV3 and 33 on some of the most popular TV programs in Barcelona. In addition to performances, Robert also works as a professor of music in Barcelona.
